Minimalist and authentic, but also elegant and filigree: the 118 is a classic wooden chair, which gives a subtle elegance to all dining tables, in all restaurants. The principle of minimizing the elements that make up a chair was created by Michael Thonet in the middle of the 19th century. Chair 118 perfects this idea, honoring the Thonet heritage, and takes it one step further. Sebastian Herkner added
refined details, which make the chair less dominant and even more beautiful. The shape of the feet is thus particular: their roundness at the back is broken up by curved edges on the front, creating lines that echo the horseshoe shape of the seat. Referring to the model 214, the original Thonet chair, the wooden frame of the seat is made of a single curved piece and manually stretched with cane.
