In 1939, Arne Jacobsen and Flemming Lassen won an open competition for the design of a new town hall, a new library and a theater in Søllerød (Rudersdal). For the town hall, they designed a wedding room with accompanying furniture - including a sofa for the waiting room where the couple can sit before getting married. Designed for solemnity, the appearance of the MAYOR sofa has been shaped with high backs and vertical sides.
The MAYOR sofa is made of high quality materials. The tight padding and the two rows of elegant buttons that extend over the armrests and backrest give the sofa a simple and elegant look. Thus, the sofa fits perfectly in modern homes and workplaces, where quality and design are important parameters.
