Oku is an interpretation of the Japanese word for oak "Ōku". Oku refers to the essence of design - oak. Through experiments on the balance between lightness and heaviness, making it paper-thin at one angle and solid at others, the design emphasizes the natural material. The Oku table top is made of oak veneer with rounded edges, adding a refined detail to the large surface. Legs of turned oak wood sections are sporadically positioned to create the illusion of a floating top while adding sculptural detail to the table.
