MR 516/1 Table

Rediscovering a multifaceted classic: On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Bauhaus, we have reissued the round MR 515 side table by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe. The reissue of the original version, presented in the Thonet tubular steel furniture catalog from 1935, is available with a tubular steel structure and glazed top. Mies van der Rohe probably designed this table around 1928, when he designed the Esters and Lange houses in Krefeld. In order to take a fresh look at the original model, the Besau Maguerre studio has studied new interpretations of the MR 515 model. The result is a series of adaptations which bring out with great sensitivity the elegance of this furniture classic. and which combine modern operating concepts and technical details with a contemporary touch. Marcel Besau's vision for the table series, shared by Eva Marguerre, remains true to the original model, but the details make all the difference. Their intervention is both subtle and technical. The central point of intersection of the table legs under the glass top is therefore particularly elegant. Based on their research on the original versions of the table, the designers took up the idea of ​​an optional second shelf that brings additional functionality and convenience to the series.
