Among tubular steel furniture, the S 32 cantilever chair is the most universal. Navigating easily between the different styles of decoration, it fits perfectly both in a resolutely modern room as in a space where different styles and eras meet. The S 32 cantilever chair and the S 64 variant with armrests are without doubt the best-known tubular steel classics. Their popularity stems from the successful combination of new and old with, on the one hand, Thonet's tradition as a manufacturer of bentwood furniture stretched with typical Viennese cane, on the other hand, the revolutionary use of tubular steel. The backrest and seat in solid wood and cane embody tradition, the base symbolizes the present and the future. Thanks to their versatile character, they are the best-selling cantilever chairs to date. Marcel Breuer designed the S 32 and S 64 models in 1928, during his years in Berlin. Thonet has been producing these two models since 1930. Thanks to their aesthetic reduction, the clarity of their shapes and the lightness of the cane, these classic chairs adapt to any type of environment, such as conference rooms, waiting rooms, restaurants and private interiors. The S 64 Atelier (VDR) swivel chairs and the S 32 VH bar stools are added to the program.
